Bio Safety Cabinet

A vented enclosure known as a biological safety cabinet protects people, products, and the environment from aerosols created when potentially dangerous microorganisms are handled. A HEPA filter allows the constant airflow to be released into the atmosphere.

States of Protection: three

  • Personal defence against dangerous substances within the cabinet
  • To prevent sample contamination, use product protection.
  • Environmental protection from the cabinet's internal pollutants.
  • Chemical Protection Based on how well they can hold biological agents, cabinets are divided into three categories.

Class 1 cabinets

used when handling biological agents that provide a low to medium risk.

Biosafety levels: 1, 2 and 3

Class 2 Cabinets

used when handling biological agents that provide a low to medium risk.

Biosafety levels: 1, 2 and 3

Class 3 Cabinets
